This is intuitive, so does EDP have to smell stronger than EDT? 

When we talk about whether perfume is strong or not, most of the time we are not talking about the content of perfume, but about the sensory experience of perfume. Perfume consists of two parts: alcohol and essential oil. When the proportion of essential oil is large, the proportion of alcohol is small.

Alcohol is the carrier of perfume, as the solvent of essential oil, it has high volatility and can evaporate into gaseous state in a short time. In the process of volatilization, it will also drive the volatilization of essential oil. 

So whether the perfume smells strong or not depends on how many odor molecules are floating in the air. Low concentrations of EDC and EDT are violent because of high alcohol concentration, rapid volatilization speed, wide diffusion range, and can volatilize more essential oils in a short time, so they give people a stronger feeling than EDP and Parfum.
