National food standard defines food nutrition fortifier as a natural or synthetic food additive that belongs to the range of natural nutrients added to food in order to enhance nutrients. Foods that add a certain amount of nutritional fortifier according to National food standard standards are called fortified foods.

Fortified food can only be sold with the approval of food hygiene supervision and inspection agencies of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and the name and content of nutritional fortifier shall be marked on the food label.
